Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Sin separates us from God. Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear” – (NIV). Sin operates like chains of bondage: the more we lean into sin, the tighter the chains are fastened around us. This creates an emptiness inside of us – it leaves us longing and wanting. We feel as if there is something missing. As humans we were created to worship and fellowship with God – deep inside there is always a desire to do so. Every person in some form or other worships, whether it’s their own created god, money, entertainment, or possessions. None of these will ever fill that missing thing inside, only Jesus can truly fill that space.
Today, as we seek peace and a healthy mindset, I implore you to worship the True and Living God. Peace comes when we commit ourselves to God. There is an overwhelming joy that comes when we do the things that God requires of us, like spending time in His Word and cultivating His presence. Psalm 34:8 reminds us to “Taste and see that the LORD is good;….” – (NIV). Oh, how true it is! We become as little children, asking many questions to better understand this joy. Our curiosity is sparked and we begin to want to know more about this new life.
In this life, Jesus is our only answer. With great promises, he never fails us. He is always faithful to those who are faithful to Him. Trust Him with your well-being. Cling to Jesus!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your Word is a light to us. We thank You for Your loving and caring nature, we sing praises to Your name. Today we ask You to break the chains of bondage that sin has us held in. We know that You sent Your son Jesus for this very purpose, so we seek Your forgiveness even now and accept You into our hearts. We do this so that we may have a new life in Jesus Christ. We thank You for doing it, Lord! Hallelujah to your name. Amen.
